The service building of the Modena Autodrome is the first construction phase of the new Marzaglia facility, which has given back to this Emilian city — the world capital of motors — a circuit worthy of its automotive tradition.

The building develops in a linear, elongated form, running parallel to the pit lane onto which it directly faces, establishing an immediate and functional relationship with the track. This arrangement is not merely practical: it reflects the very logic of motorsport, where every second counts and the connection between people, machines and asphalt must be seamless and uninterrupted.

Inside, the building houses the paddock garages, management offices and support facilities for racing and testing activities. On the roof, above the garages, a panoramic terrace opens directly onto the track: a space of anticipation and emotion, where teams, guests and enthusiasts follow driving sessions with a bird’s-eye view of the circuit. An element that transforms the building from pure technical infrastructure into a place of experience.

The theme of speed runs as a thread through the architectural choices as well. The ventilated ceramic facade, in dark and material tones, evokes the surfaces of racing prototypes: compact, high-performance, designed to cut through the air. The ceramic cladding, with its texture and colour palette, turns the building’s envelope into an immediate visual reference to the world it serves, without resorting to literal quotation. The result is an architecture that communicates speed through the quality of its materials, not through form.

The result is a sober and efficient infrastructure, capable of engaging in dialogue with the agricultural landscape of the Po Valley while clearly expressing its technical and sporting vocation.
